on Friday, February 15, 2008 - 10:47am PSTFrom NARAL...
Thanks to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, we may be one step closer to sending anti-choice judicial nominee Richard Honaker back to Wyoming without a lifetime judgeship. Earlier this week, Sen. Feinstein chaired the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing on Honaker, one of President Bush’s most anti-choice judicial nominees to date. Sen. Feinstein, a strong and independent pro-choice leader, put Richard Honaker’s anti-choice views into the spotlight. Among other things, Honaker admitted that his work as a Wyoming state legislator was in fact a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and that he thinks Roe was wrongly decided. Please thank Sen. Feinstein for asking tough questions and playing a critical role in exposing Honaker’s anti-choice views. 35 Years after Roe v. Wade: UC Davis event

on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 - 3:35pm PSTMcCloskeys have been Republicans in California since 1859, the year before Lincoln's election. My great grandfather, John Henry McCloskey, orphaned in the great Irish potato famine of 1843, came to California in 1853 as a boy of 16, and joined the party just before the Civil War.
By 1890 he and my grandfather, both farmers, made up two of the twelve members of the Republican Central Committee of Merced County. My father's most memorable expletive came when I was a boy of 10 or 11: "That damn Roosevelt is trying to pack the Supreme Court!" NARAL training in Rocklin

NARAL Activist Academy
submitted by
on Sunday, July 23, 2006 - 9:59pm PSTOn July 29, NARAL Pro-Choice CA will be hosting an "Activist Academy" in Placerville, CA. An "Activist Academy" is a campaigning workshop that will give pro-choice activists the skills to become effective advocates in notoriously anti-choice districts. Participants will learn about general campaigning/ GOTV skills such as canvassing, precinct-walking, phone-banking etc. and will also learn about key issues in the November election (although we will not be endorsing any candidates). There will be a number of workshops in the morning and we are still in the process of getting a key-note speaker and are hoping to have a local elected official.
The Academy will be held at the Cozmic Cafe at 594 Main St. in Placerville. Workshops begin at 9:00 AM. At 1:00 PM there will be a luncheon with a key note speaker. Please RSVP by email or phone below. Time: Saturday, July 29, 2006 - 9:59am PST |
