14 Points of Fascism
In his original
article, "Fascism Anyone?", Laurence Britt (interview)
compared the regimes of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto, and Pinochet

presidency divided into topics relating to each of the 14 points of fascism.

Was the 2004 Election Stolen?

Was the 2004 Election Stolen
by Robert Kennedy Jr.
Like many Americans, I spent the evening of the 2004 election watching the returns on television and wondering how the exit polls, which predicted an overwheming victory for John Kerry, had gotten it so wrong. By midnight, the official tallies showed a decisive lead for George Bush -- and the next day, lacking enough evidence to contest the results, Kerry conceded. Republicans derided anyone who expressed doubts about Bush's victory as nut cases in "tin foil hats," while the national media, with few exceptions, did little to question the validity of the election. The Washington Post immediately dismissed allegations of fraud as "conspiracy theories,"(1) and the New York Times declared that "there is no evidence of vote theft or errors on a large scale."(2)
But despite the media blackout, indications continued to emerge that something deeply troubling had taken place in 2004. Nearly half of the 6 million American voters living abroad(3) never received their ballots -- or received them too late to vote(4) -- after the Pentagon unaccountably shut down a state of the art Web site used

Kerry Won. Now Get Over It . . .
...because they're putting '08 in their pocket. Republicans just seem to
have that winning spirit. They also have caging lists, felons of the future,
rotting ballots, snuffed canaries, and a lock on the votes of Kissinger-
Americans and the undead.

Confessions of a Repentant Republican
"I supported George W. Bush in the presidential election in 2000, believing then that he best reflected my love for America and for our tradition of liberty. I supported the war in Afghanistan. In March of 2003, I believed that the invasion of Iraq was justified based upon pre-war revelations presented to Congress and to the American people. Acordingly, the indictments contained herein apply, first and foremost, to myself.

Democrats Fuming Over Feingold
"'Feingold's grandstanding screwed the pooch and played into Bill Frist's hands,' the aide said. 'Thank God Dems punted this down the field. Frist was going to force Democrats to vote on a resolution Feingold had kept a big secret and he would've split the caucus on an issue that needed time to get the whole caucus to support. Russ Feingold had only one person's interest in mind with his Sunday bombshell, and those were his own. he practically handed a victory to a Bush Whitehouse that desperately needs a win'" ... read more

Sac Bee covers basement "briefing"
submitted by bonniesac on Monday, January 23, 2006 - 1:08pm PST
Folks,
To my surprise the Saturday 1/21 Bee covered the basement Democratic Domestic Spying "briefing" convened by John Conyers.
It was on the same page as Karl Rove's RNC rantings against Republicans.
Both articles were equal in size, neither written by Bee reporters (so you won't find them at SacBee.com).
I've written the Bee to thank them and encourage them to continue reporting fairly.
I've also written NPR and PBS to slam them for not reporting. I encourage you to call or write the Bee to continue fair and even reporting. http://www.sacbee.com/static/live/opinion/letters_form.html

The Russert Watch: Ken Mehlman Gets the E-ZPass Treatment
06.06.2005 Arianna Huffington
As expected, the latest edition of Meet the Press, featuring RNC chair Ken Mehlman, was another classic example of why host Tim Russert is fast becoming journalism’s answer to the “E-ZPass,” those electronic tags that allow drivers to go through toll booths without having to stop. On the show today, Mehlman was allowed to distort, twist, manipulate, obfuscate and "disassemble" his way through every stop on the disinformation highway.
Bill Moyers at the National Conference for Media Reform

"A democracy can die of too many lies"
Television journalist Bill Moyers blasts flag-wearing phonies, reporters who parrot the government line, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's "dangerous" campaign to silence dissenting voices.
Editor's note: This is excerpted from an address given by Bill Moyers at the National Conference for Media Reform in St. Louis, Mo., on Sunday. It was broadcast on the national radio and TV program Democracy Now!

ST. LOUIS, MO., May 15 — Outside the window was the great Arch of Exploration, St. Louis's national monument honoring Thomas Jefferson and his patronage of the Lewis and Clark expedition that mapped out our continent for major change back in the early days of the 18th century.
