Select day
Latino Caucus Speaker Series with Ken Burt 3/7
During the 2007 legislative session, the California Latino Legislative Caucus in partnership with Comcast was able to present to the Sacramento community a successful Latino Caucus Speaker Series. The partnership allowed the Latino Caucus to invite a range of phenomenal speakers to present on issues that affect the policymaking process in our state (David Hayes-Bautista, Dowel Myers, & Alicia Gaspar de Alba).

This 2008 legislative session we will continue the Latino Caucus Speaker Series; please join us as we kick-off the legislative year with our first speaker, Kenneth Burt. He will be presenting his new book, The Search for a Civic Voice: California Latino Politics. Kenneth Burt is the political director of the California Federation of Teachers, a policy advocate, author, and award-winning historian. The event is scheduled for Friday, March 7, 2008 at NOON (Capitol Building RM 4203). A copy of his book will be given to the first 100 RSVPs!

Please RSVP if you are planning to attend with Esmeralda Soria at 651-4022 or via email at Esmeralda.Soria@sen.ca.gov.
