Join 500+ Student rally at Blue Diamond!

UPDATE: Blue Diamond closes doors in response to major student protest Friday!!

Fellow Progressives!

Don't miss the action this Friday when over 500 students from across the country descend on the Blue Diamond almond processing plant to show their support for the workers who have been engaged in a long fight to organize and join a union --

Students attending the national conference of M.E.Ch.A. (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan) at Sac State, Blue Diamond workers, and the community will be coming together in solidarity as spoken word and sidewalk art fills the air and sidewalks at the entrance of the plant. If you can make it, please show your support for these very brave students and workers!

Friday, March 21st 1:30 - 3:30pm
17th and C Street (the entrance of the Blue Diamond plant)

NOTE: Since the word has gotten out about the action, a most dramatic development has occurred:
Blue Diamond decided to make the workers do three straight days of overtime so they could SHUT THE PLANT DOWN ON FRIDAY! This is how far they will go to prevent the workers from seeing the huge support they have outside the plant. But it doesn't matter, because the word has gotten out and the workers are very excited about the actions taking place.
