The Greenbriar project ...

> should not be justified based on questionable local population projections for Sacramento that are significantly higher than the the state's estimates

> would be built behind uncertified levees in a deep flood basin

Purpose:
This is a public meeting to provide input on recommended design elements for the K Street Streetscape Project. The project was approved by City Council on May 29, 2007. Landscape Architect, Walker Macy, will present design elements and options for sidewalk paving materials, street furniture, lighting, landscaping and gateway elements. City staff will use input from the public to further develop design options and present recommended final design elements to City Council for approval by the end of the year.

Critical hearing of the Sacramento County Local Agency Formation Commission (Sac LAFCo) NEXT WEDNESDAY EVENING, September 19, 5:30pm, 700 H Street, downtown Sacramento.

The Sacramento LAFCo is responsible for:

ensuring the orderly formation of local governmental agencies
preserving agricultural and open space lands
discouraging sprawl

As part of its responsibilities, the LAFCo oversees and must approve things like municipal boundary expansions for cities in Sacramento County. The LAFCo must approve the requested expansion before the City of Sacramento can proceed with approving the development.

Next Wednesday evening, the Sacramento LAFCo will consider the proposed Greenbriar development in the Natomas Basin being pushed by AKT Development (owned by Angelo K. Tsakopoulos) and the City of Sacramento.
