Tell Planning Commission to REJECT "Greenbriar" - THIS Thurs
Think a few thousand more homes in the Natomas Basin sounds like a BAD IDEA?

Tell the Sacramento Planning Commission to REJECT the Greenbriar Project - THIS Thurs, Nov 8 - 5:30pm - 915 I St - Sacramento Old City Hall, 2nd Floor

Proposed Greenbriar development to be considered by City of Sacramento Planning Commission THIS Thurs, Nov 8, at 5:30pm on 2nd Floor of Old City Hall (915 I Street).

--------------------------------------------------------------
In spite of numerous warning signs and alarm bells, Sacramento has been rushing to approve the proposed Greenbriar development.

The Greenbriar project ...

> should not be justified based on questionable local population projections for Sacramento that are significantly higher than the the state's estimates

> would be built behind uncertified levees in a deep flood basin

> is located outside the existing urban growth boundary, which is intended to promote infill development and protect farms and wildlife from more sprawl development

> would result in more paving over of prime farmland in Natomas

> poses serious toxic air and noise pollution issues for residents because of siting next to two freeways and in direct airport flight path for Sacramento International Airport

> is unnecessary as there is more than enough space within existing municipal boundaries to handle growth for many, many years

> has raised serious concern among wildlife agencies and research scientists who say that the environmental impact report for the project does not adequately mitigate negative impacts on wildlife, habitat and the existing Natomas Basin Conservancy and Habitat Conservation Plan

> should not be justified or bolstered by a proposed light rail line to the airport because it's unlikely that such a line would be built for the next 20 years, if ever

For all of these reasons and more, please attend the City of Sacramento Planning Commission hearing THIS THURSDAY, November 8, 5:30pm, Old City Hall, 2nd Floor (915 I Street). Tell the Commission to REJECT Greenbriar.
