The Bat is Back!

The Tea Is in the Harbor!

Reposted from Blog for America

Like the patriots in Boston on this day in 1773, you've sent a powerful message for change.

Over four days, 7,732 Americans contributed $552,214.62 to combat a shadowy group of Democrats attacking one of their own with images of Osama bin Laden. You showed that Americans won't be bullied into a climate of fear -- and that trying to scare people out of the political process only makes our movement stronger.

Peggy Gorman is working with the New Orleans library to restock their shelves. She will be going down in July. Help her bring books back to New Orleans city Library. Please donate hardcover and paperback books for people of all ages (new or used). The staff will assess which titles will be designated for its collections. The rest will be distributed to destitute families or sold for library fundraising. Bring your donated books to the next Meet-up on June 7th and I will get them to her or contact Peggy Gorman @ 916-638-9022 to drop off or have her pick up the books.

VP Alan Dechert of Open Voting on KCTC 1320
The Open Voting subcommittee's first successful media effort was aired on KCTC 1320 AM "Moment of Truth".

It is amazing how much Alan Dechert could say about Open Voting, Jackie Goldberg's AB 2097, and Debra Bowen for Secretary of State when Charlie Weiss edits it into three powerful minutes.

Sign our Petition, make a contribution, and join us at our Roe Reception & Performance.

January 22, 2006 marks the 33rd anniversary of the U. S. Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade. “Roe” has come to be known as the case that established the constitutional right of women to choose to have a safe and legal abortion. And yet, now nearly four decades later, choice hangs in the balance as the composition of the Supreme Court is dramatically altered. Just one vote decided Supreme Court cases in favor of protecting the rights of women to make their own decisions about their families and now that vote is threatened to be replaced by Samuel Alito, a judge with a history of anti-choice extremism. Add an unprecedented attack on family planning at the local, state, and international levels and the scales seem stacked against women to control their own bodies and families.

Please Contribute to the DNC, DFA (Democracy For America) or Sacramento For Democracy
Now that Howard Dean will be elected Chair of the DNC, we would like to encourage you to donate to the DNC (Democratic National Committee). Please donate in amounts of $20.06 (or in amounts that end in .06 ... $10.06, $30.06, etc...)

$20.06 represents 2006 - the year the Democratic party, under the leadership of Governor Dean, takes back Congress, and progressive politicians at all ballot levels are elected.

Please use this secure link so that they know your donation came from Sacramento:

Boot Bush! Donate to the DNC today

If your situation allows, please contribute to Sacramento For Democracy and/or Howard Dean's Democracy for America as we are the one's that are in direct contact with the grassroots and WE are the one's that will move this party to victory! Democracy For America supported hundreds of candidates, including our own Kristine Lang McDonald, when the Democratic Party was unable or unwilling to help them.
