Students, faculty and staff activists are planning an informational picket line and rally at California State University, Sacramento. The demonstrations will take place the first days of the Fall Semester. The general theme is “Defend our University:”

Students and their families hit with a 30% increase in fee/tuition;

Classes canceled;

Faculty laid off/ furloughed and quality education in jeopardy.

Picket lines will run from 8-10 a.m. at the front entrance to the campus on Monday August 31 and Tuesday September 1.

A rally will be held Wednesday September 2 at 12 noon in the Quad.

Area labor and social justice activists, along with community members concerned about the future of public education in California are invited to attend.

The goal is to link up with all who want to fight back against the current regime of severe education cutbacks and decimated social services.
