1. Upcoming planning council meeting dates and events:
The planning council meets on the second Wednesday of the month at Sacramento's Art and Garden Center (3330 McKinley Blvd). The dates are:

Mar 8
April 12
April 15 - Saturday Art Day - fun work day making signs and preparing for the event
April 22 -- Earth Day Celebration at CSUS from 11-5
May 10
June 4 -- River City Run in Old Sacramento starting at 8:30 am
June 14

2. January meeting sum:
Welcome to Alicia Lampley, Bill Maynard, Gial Gioranni, Anna Decuir, and Rob Herdman

A. Sponsorship packets have been mailed. Efforts will be to line up sponsors in February so they can be represented on the flyers.

B. CSUS sent an invitation to the faculty to participate in the Earth Day Celebration.

C. RCR will combine with the Rubber Duck Race supporting the Special Olympics. Both events were scheduled into Waterfront Park. The River
City Run will be in the morning and the Ducks will race in the river in the afternoon.

D. RCR has a new website. Check out www.rivercityrun.org. Very cool!

E. The group divided into two to focus on the two event: Earth Day and RCR.
Topics discussed included the logo, budget, and key tasks in
the next month.

3. Openings

1. Earth Day Celebration logistics coordinator role open! Want wonderful event planning experience with a fun dedicated group of
people? Try this! Contact Kathy for more details on the role. IDEA: ask a friend to share this role and do it together!!

2. RCR food and water donations role open -- Goodies at the end of the race are the best! Help make it happen by contacting local businesses
for donations to the runners and walkers. Are you able to make calls?
