Need House Co-Sponsors for The Appalachian Community Health Emergency Act (ACHE Act) -- Save the Hillbillies in the Kill Zone

Andrew H. Dral ("Janosik" -- "The Rabble")

H.R. 5959 -- The Appalachian Community Health Emergency Act (ACHE Act) -- or Save the Hillbillies Act, introduced June 19, 2012, provides for a full scientific analysis of the health threats to communities affected by mountaintop removal mining, places a moratorium on new mountaintop removal, and stops expansion of existing mountaintop removal sites. In a mountaintop removal operation a seam of coal is exposed releasing toxic chemicals in the air and groundwater. An August 2011 study, by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Washington, found elevated levels of birth defects, chronic pulmonary disorders, hypertension, lung cancer; and chronic heart, lung, and kidney disease in populations surrounding mountaintop coal mining removal sites. Rep. Dennis Kucinich is sponsoring the ACHE Act along with Rep. Louise Slaughter, so far there are 26 co-sponsors. In California Rep.s Lynn Woolsey, Barbara Lee, Judy Chu, Michael Honda, Sam Farr, Bob Filner, Jerry McNerney, Adam B. Schiff, Pete Stark, and Lucille Roybal-Allard are co-sponsors. We need more co-sponsors, call to action, please call your federal House representative, Reps. Doris Matsui, Jackie Speier, or Nancy Pelosi, among others to sign onto the bill as a co-sponsor. More co-sponsors continue to be added since the original June 19, release date. These links can provide you more information on HR 5959, the ACHE Act:
